Custom Quote Questions

How long does it take to receive a custom quote?

Most quotes are turned around within 24 business hours. Larger, more complex projects (like multi-piece campaigns or large signage packages) may take a bit longer, but we always try to be as fast and clear as possible.

How long are your estimates valid?

Our estimates are typically valid for 30 days. Material and vendor pricing can change, so if your project is delayed, we may need to refresh the quote after that.

How do I proceed after I receive an estimate from you?

Once you’re ready to move forward:

  • Review your estimate in the link we send.
  • Add it to your cart or confirm with our team.
  • Upload your artwork (or request design help).
  • Approve your proof and submit payment.

After that, we’ll take it from there and move your project into production.

How do I check the status of my quote request?

You can log into your account and select "Quotes" from the “My Account” menu to see the status of your open estimates. You’re always welcome to call or email us as well.

Can’t I just email you instead of using a custom quote form?

You can, and we’ll still help you — but you’ll get a faster, more accurate quote by using the custom quote form.

The form prompts you for all the details we need (sizes, quantities, colors, materials, etc.), which reduces back-and-forth and speeds up your estimate.

Printing Questions

What is offset printing?

Offset printing is a traditional, high-quality printing method. Your artwork is transferred to printing plates, then to a rubber blanket, and finally to paper (or another material). It’s ideal for larger quantities and projects where color consistency and detail really matter.

What are the advantages of offset printing?

  • Excellent quality for photos, solids, and fine details.
  • Best value on higher quantities — the more you print, the lower the unit cost.
  • Wide material range — can be used on many stocks and surfaces.
  • Exact color matching with Pantone (PMS) inks when needed.

What is digital printing?

Digital printing sends your file directly from the computer to the press without plates. It’s perfect for short runs, quick turn projects, and variable data (like names or unique codes).

What are the advantages of digital printing?

  • Great for small quantities and test runs.
  • Fast turnaround — ideal when you’re on a deadline.
  • Variable data capabilities (personalized pieces).
  • Less waste and often a more eco-friendly setup.

Is there a quality difference between offset and digital printing?

For many everyday projects, our high-end digital presses look fantastic and most people can’t tell the difference.

For large solid areas of color, very large runs, or strict brand-color matching, offset may still be the better choice. If it matters for your project, we’ll recommend the best option up front.

What type of paper should I choose for offset printing?

Offset presses run well on a wide variety of papers. Tell us what you’re trying to achieve (luxury feel, budget-friendly, extra durable, etc.) and we’ll recommend a stock that fits.

What type of paper should I choose for digital printing?

We’ve tested and selected digital-friendly papers that look great and run reliably. Share your goals (smooth vs. textured, matte vs. gloss, thick vs. flexible) and we’ll steer you to the right option.

Which is better for the environment: digital or offset?

In general, digital printing creates less setup waste and uses toner instead of traditional inks, which often makes it the more eco-friendly choice for shorter runs.

For very large quantities, offset can still be efficient when planned properly.

I’m still not sure which printing method to choose.

No problem — that’s what we’re here for.

As a simple guideline:

  • Choose offset for high-volume, color-critical, or specialty projects.
  • Choose digital for smaller quantities, faster turnaround, or when you’re testing an idea.

If you’re unsure, just tell us your quantity, timeline, and what you care about most (price, quality, speed), and we’ll recommend the best option.

Will you send me a proof before printing?

Yes. For most projects, we provide a digital proof for you to review and approve.

For color-critical jobs, we can also provide a printed hard proof (additional charges and time may apply), so you can see how the colors and images will look on paper before we run the full job.

Can you match Pantone (PMS) colors or use special inks?

Yes. We can match PMS colors and use special inks on projects where color accuracy is critical.

On many digital projects, PMS colors are simulated using CMYK, and they often look very close. If an exact match is required, we’ll recommend the best production method for that.

Files & Artwork Questions

What file formats do you prefer, and how do I set up my files?

Our preferred format is a press-ready PDF:

  • 1-up (single piece), not imposed or laid out in multiples.
  • Include crop marks and bleed if your artwork goes to the edge.
  • Embed all fonts or convert text to outlines.

If you’re unsure how to set this up, just send what you have — our team can advise you or help correct it.

Bleed Example

What are crop marks?

Crop marks are small lines placed at the corners of your artwork that show where the final piece should be cut.

Do I need to add crop marks myself?

Most design programs (InDesign, Illustrator, etc.) can add crop marks automatically when you export a PDF.

Just make sure your document size matches the final trimmed size (for example, a 3.5" x 2" business card should have a 3.5" x 2" document size, plus bleed).

Do I need to impose my artwork (lay it out multiple-up) myself?

No. Please send your artwork 1-up (one piece at a time). Our workflow will handle all imposition automatically.

What is bleed?

Bleed is extra image or background that extends past the edge of your final size. It ensures that when your job is trimmed, there are no unintended white edges.

In most cases, a bleed of 1/8" (0.125") on all sides is recommended.

Do I need to convert my files into CMYK?

You don’t have to — our system can convert RGB files to CMYK. However, for best results (especially when color matching is important), setting your document up in CMYK from the beginning is ideal.

What resolution should my images be?

For high-quality printing, we recommend images be at least 300 dpi at final size.

Lower resolution images may look blurry or pixelated when printed. If you’re not sure, send us your file and we’ll check it for you.
